2-3 Year Target Goals

Over the next 2–3 years, we will support the relocation of families living in all major landfills into newly constructed communities with:

• 5,000 families relocated in 5 countries

Permanent housing + services for each family
Landfill relocation model replicated worldwide

• Safe housing far from toxic sites

• Clean water, toilets, and electricity

• Access to healthcare, schools, clothing, and dignity

The Plan: From Trash to Transformation

To permanently relocate all children under 18 and their families living in the world’s largest landfills into safe, newly built communities with access to education, healthcare, and opportunity. Follows an unprecedented global effort to relocate these forgotten families into sustainable homes.

Through strategic partnerships with governments, the United Nations, NGOs, and global philanthropists, we will drive lasting, systemic solutions that relocate families, build safe communities, and break the cycle of poverty for good.

1. Temporary Housing (Immediate Relocation)

LOCATE LAND 25 MILES AWAY FROM THE LANDFILL TO FIT THE NUMBER OF FAMILIES TO RELOCATE.

Secure safe, interim shelters for families while permanent communities are built.
Provide food, clean water, clothing, and medical care during transition.

Better Shelter by IKEA Foundation & UNHCR: A flat-pack, modular shelter developed collaboratively by the IKEA Foundation and UNHCR, designed for quick assembly and long-term use.

Assembly: Estimated 4–8 hours by a small team (4 people), no tools required
Price: $1,250 per unit, including the solar panel and lamp setup
Lifespan: Designed to last at least 3 years, with potential longevity in milder climates
• Assembles in approximately four hours.
• Equipped with lockable doors, ventilation, and solar-powered lighting.
• Designed to last up to three years, providing a more permanent solution.
Features:
1. Floor Area: Approximately 17.5 m² (188 ft²), suitable for a family of up to five
2. Height: Roughly 1.75 m (6 ft), allowing standing-room height
Structure:
1. Lightweight steel frame with Rhulite (plastic/polymer) panels
2. Flat-pack design, split into two boxes (~80 kg each)

2. Permanent Sustainable Communities

Build affordable, eco-friendly housing far from toxic zones.
Include schools, playgrounds, medical centers, and clean sanitation.

3. Holistic Community Support

Provide access to education, vocational training, mental health resources, and childcare.
Establish local agriculture, clean water sources, and on-site job creation.

4. Economic Empowerment

Develop community-based businesses and skill-building programs to ensure families can sustain themselves without landfill work.

Population Count: Detailed assessment of families living within or near each landfill.
Land Requirements: Acres needed for housing, schools, clinics, and farming.
Budget per Site: Individualized relocation and buildout plans.

Sustainability Features:
